HISTORY
Savoy Cinemas is a family run business based in Nottingham, and whilst running cinemas has been in the family for five generations, West End has been the most ambitious project to date. The site of the old Co-op department store was purchased in August 2001.
This photograph shows how the department store looked before the development commenced. The Co-operative Society had originally bought the site on West Street in 1888, when it was a mansion house with orchards behind it. The premises were extended considerably throughout the 20th century and finally became the structure shown above, consisting of a 3-storey department store at the front with extensive warehousing to the rear. Since Savoy Cinemas purchased the site, it has been transformed beyond all recognition into the luxurious cinema and café bar that now exists.

After many months of planning and hard work, the cinema opened its door to the public on 21st March 2002 with a Grand Charity Opening. Since then the cinema has proved to be a great hit with the public, offering a wide range of films for all tastes. After much anticipation West End has finally arrived, and we aim to provide the very best entertainment for everyone. Come and enjoy the show!
